The landscapes of Israel are at the heart of Hebrew poetry.
The Galilee mountains, the Negev, Jerusalem, the Dan, the lowlands, the Sharon – everyone has a place in poetry.
But how are these landscapes reflected mentally in the hearts of the readers?
What does the Galilee landscape give us as readers?
During the course we will learn how to turn the place from an attraction to nostalgia.
We will read from the poems of Rachel, Leah Goldberg, Alexander Penn, Agi Mishol and Sabina Messeg,
and we will see how the landscapes are a stage for flight and an intense and deep inner creation – a creation
that soars to breathtaking heights of love, compassion, loneliness, relationship, while paying sensitive attention
to the essence of man and nature .
The course will be held in Hebrew and will include writing exercises.
