Zikaron Basalon

Zikaron BaSalon is a tradition started in 2011 as a different way to commemorate the Holocaust.
It passes the torch from official ceremonies and mass assemblies to more intimate, meaningful and inspirational gatherings,
taking place every year in thousands of private living rooms and public settings across the world.
Every Zikaron BaSalon event is different, just like every living room looks different.
But in the end, we all shape and create the way we remember the Holocaust and the valuable lessons we’ve learned from it.
This year we are honored to hear Ruth Elenberg Eisenberg’s story.
Ruth was just six years old when the Nazis occupied her hometown in Poland and her life changed forever.
She survived unimaginable loss, hiding in basements, barns, and forests as her family was torn apart during the Holocaust.
Against all odds, Ruth endured, and rebuilt her life in the United States, becoming a powerful witness to history.
Join us for a moving memorial event as Ruth shares her story of survival, resilience, and hope.
The event, that will be held in English, will be led by Maya Cohen Klinger, author, lecturer and Zikarin Basalon representative in Washington DC.
