General Waiver – IAC MAGEN for Teens

By enrolling my teen in IAC MAGEN DAY FOR TEEN, I confirm the following:
- I give permission for my teen to participate in all program activities, whether held on-site, virtually, or at designated off-site locations.
- Â I understand that IAC staff will make every reasonable effort to ensure a safe environment. However, I acknowledge that certain risks are inherent in group programs involving teens
- I voluntarily assume all inherent risks associated with my teen’s participation in the program. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the Israeli-American Council (IAC), its directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and partner organizations from any claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of participation in the program, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Â I authorize IAC to use photographs or video recordings of my teen taken during program activities for internal use and promotional purposes. I understand this consent is a condition of enrollment.
- Emergency Medical Authorization
In the event of injury or illness, I authorize IAC staff to obtain emergency medical treatment for my teen if I cannot be reached. I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs not covered by my teen’s personal medical insurance.
Code of Conduct and Behavior Expectations
IAC Youth Programs foster a community built on respect, leadership, and positive engagement.
Each participant is expected to:
- Follow the guidance of IAC staff and instructors.
- Show respect toward peers, staff, and program materials.
- Engage in activities with a cooperative, positive attitude.
- Â Maintain appropriate personal boundaries and behavior.
- Use respectful and appropriate language at all times.
Behavior Policy and Disciplinary Actions
We understand that teens are developing independence and leadership skills. However, consistent disruptive or unsafe behaviors such as bullying, harassment, or refusal to participate-will be addressed promptly to ensure a positive experience for all. Our goal is to support each teen while maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
If behavior issues continue despite our efforts to support and redirect, IAC reserves the right to suspend or end a teen’s participation in the program. In these cases, refunds will not be issued. We’re committed to doing our best to work with families to find solutions that support every teen’s success.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Refund Policy:
If a cancellation request is made a week before session, a full refund will be issued (excluding any processing fees).
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the first scheduled program session to qualify for a refund, excluding processing fees.

How to Request a Refund?
To initiate a cancellation and request a refund, please contact your local IAC Regional Director via email. Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment and may take 5–7 business days to appear in your account. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
Change of Location and Time:
IAC reserves the right to modify the time or location of a program due to unforeseen circumstances such as security concerns, program needs, emergencies, or other valid reasons. If a permanent change is made, participants will be notified via email and given five (5) business days to cancel their registration and request a partial refund for the remaining sessions. One-time changes will not qualify for refunds.
Program Cancellation:
In the event that IAC cancels the program, participants will be notified via email, and full refunds will be issued.
If possible, IAC will offer participants the option to join a similar program at another location.
Transfer of Enrollment
Program enrollments are non-transferable. Each participant must be registered individually by their parent or legal guardian.
Attendance Policy
Failure to attend the program does not qualify participants for a refund. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances may prevent attendance, it’s important to note that significant financial resources are invested in preparing and delivering each program. These funds cover venue bookings, materials, staffing, and other essential components necessary to ensure high-quality experience for all participants

Processing Fees
Processing fees may apply to refund requests. Participants are responsible for these fees, which are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Payment Dispute Resolution
As we are committed to addressing concerns regarding payments efficiently and effectively, participants are encouraged to contact us via the emails listed above, or to reach out to our Regional Director for any payment-related disputes.
Acknowledgment of Terms
By enrolling in IAC programs, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of our refund policy. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding
House Parties:
- Supervision of Teens:
Parents or guardians must ensure proper supervision of their teens during events held at private residences. These events are not drop-off programs unless explicitly stated, and event organizers, staff, or hosts are not responsible for unsupervised attendees. - Access to Recreational Features (Pool, Trampoline, Sports Areas, etc.):If the host property includes recreational features (such as a swimming pool, trampoline, basketball court, playground, zipline, etc.), use of these areas is strictly prohibited unless explicit permission has been granted in advance by both the host and the organizing team.
- Respect for Private Property:
All guests are expected to treat the host’s home, belongings, and outdoor space with respect. Please follow any additional guidelines provided by the host or organizing team. - Liability Waiver: Participation in events held at private residences involves inherent risks. By attending, parents/guardians acknowledge and assume all inherent risks associated with private residence events. To the fullest extent permitted by law, parents/guardians release and hold harmless IAC, its staff, volunteers, and the host family from claims arising out of participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Indemnification: Parent/guardian agrees to indemnify and hold harmless IAC from claims arising from their teen’s misconduct, rule violations, or damage to property.
Krav Maga & Physical Self-Defense Activities
Participation in Krav Maga and Physical Training
I understand that the Magen Teens program may include physical self-defense training activities such as Krav Maga, fitness drills, or related exercises. I acknowledge that participation in such activities involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to minor or serious injury.
I confirm that my teen is physically fit to participate in these activities and is covered by valid personal medical insurance. I understand that IAC does not provide medical insurance coverage for participants.
I acknowledge that participation in Krav Maga and physical self-defense training involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to minor or serious injury. I voluntarily assume these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless IAC, its staff, instructors, contractors, volunteers, and affiliated partners from claims arising out of participation in these activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
I confirm my teen is covered by valid personal medical insurance and understand IAC does not provide medical insurance coverage.
Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California Any disputes arising from participation in IAC programs shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in that state.
Parental Consent for Communication & Alumni Engagement
Consent to Communication Platforms
I hereby grant permission for my teen to be added to:
- Official Magen Teens WhatsApp groups (including alumni groups)
- IAC email distribution lists and newsletters intended for teen participants
I understand that these communication channels are used for program updates, educational content, leadership opportunities, and alumni engagement.
I acknowledge that participation in these groups may continue after completion of the program unless I provide written notice requesting removal.
