Anat Vizanski Levi
Teacher
Anat holds a master’s degree in sociology and anthropology from the University of Haifa in Israel and a teaching certificate in art history and visual arts from Beit Berl College. This summer, Anat will complete her second master’s degree in second language teaching (Hebrew) from Middlebury College, Vermont.
Anat was born and raised in Israel and taught art education for over 20 years. In 2007, Anat moved to California and had since taught Hebrew in various educational settings. As part of teaching Hebrew as a second language and being a certified art and yoga teacher, Anat likes to combine Hebrew studies with studies of famous Israeli artists and as an opportunity to practice mindfulness. In her Hebrew classes, Anat teaches through various authentic genres that give the student, in addition to acquiring the Hebrew language, a broad perspective on the diversity of Hebrew and Israeli culture.
Anat likes to create an inclusive, supportive, and safe teaching environment for her students that encourages students to participate in communication within the classroom and feel comfortable outside the classroom walls.
ענת היא בעלת תואר שני בסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה מאוניברסיטת חיפה בישראל ובעלת תעודת הוראה בתולדות האמנות ובאמנות חזותית ממכללת בית ברל ומסיימת בקיץ הקרוב תואר שני נוסף בהוראת שפה שנייה (עברית) ממידלברי קולג’, ורמונט. ענת נולדה וגדלה בישראל ולימדה חינוך לאמנות למעלה מ-20 שנה. בשנת 2007 ענת עברה לקליפורניה, ומאז לימדה עברית במסגרות חינוכיות שונות. במסגרת הוראת עברית כשפה שנייה והיותה גם מורה מוסמכת לאמנות ויוגה, ענת אוהבת לשלב בלימודי העברית לימוד על אמנים ישראלים מפורסמים, ושימוש ביוגה להוראת השפה העברית וכהזדמנות לתרגל מיינדפולנס. בשיעורי העברית ענת מלמדת באמצעות סוגות אותנטיות שונות המעניקות לתלמיד, בנוסף לרכישת השפה העברית, גם פרספקטיבה רחבה על מגוון התרבות העברית והישראלית.
ענת אוהבת ליצור לתלמידיה סביבת הוראה מכילה, תומכת ובטוחה המעודדת את הסטודנטים ליטול חלק בתקשורת במסגרת הכיתה ולהרגיש נוח לדבר עברית גם מחוץ לכותלי הכיתה.
