what is WZC
The World Zionist Congress (WZC) is the global governing body of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), founded in 1897 by Theodor Herzl to promote Jewish unity and the vision of a Jewish homeland. Held every five years, the WZC brings together Jewish representatives from around the world to shape policies on Jewish education, aliyah (immigration to Israel), combating antisemitism, and strengthening Israel-Diaspora relations. It also influences major Jewish institutions, including the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (KKL-JNF), and Keren Hayesod.
Voting in the election is the most powerful opportunity to have your voice heard, make an impact in Jewish communities worldwide, and stand up for Zionism. The representatives who are elected – with one-third of them coming from the United States – will make key decisions on allocating over $1 billion annually to support the most pressing needs across Israeli society and the Diaspora.
